Themes Throughout the Year

These are the themes Miss Chelsea will be teaching throughout the year. I try and fit in some type of field trip every once in awhile. These might change a little throughout the year, but for the most part, this will be what your child will be learning about. September 2nd - September 4th: School Bells Ring **We'll be learning the rules and schedule of school** September 9th - September 25th: Gotta Be Me **Learning all about "ME" - practicing name writing and how each child is alike and different** September 30th - October 16th: Creepy Crawlies

FIELD TRIP TO THE USU INSECT LAB
**We'll be learning about all different sorts of bugs. Starting with caterpillars and butterflies and moving on through ants, worms, flies, grasshoppers and more!**
October 21st - October 30th: Halloween Time
FIELD TRIP TO THE PUMPKIN WALK
**We'll be learning about the colors, traditions, and things that happen during Halloween** November 4th - November 13th: Under the Weather **From sunny, to snowy and any weather in between, we'll be learning about it** November 18th - November 20th: Thanksgiving
NO SCHOOL NOV. 25th, Nov. 26th, AND NOV. 27TH - THANKSGIVING BREAK!!
**We'll have fun learning about turkey's, families and thankfulness, the First Thanksgiving, and we'll end with our very own Thanksgiving Celebration!** December 2nd - December 18th: It's Christmas Time
NO SCHOOL FROM DEC. 23 TO JAN. 1ST - CHRISTMAS BREAK!! School will start back up on January 6th.
**We'll be celebrating EVERYTHING CHRISTMAS!! From traditions, to Christmas trees, Christmas songs, and anything you can think of, it will be a lot of fun!!**
January 6th - January 15th: The Shape of Things

**Learning about circles, ovals, rectangles, squares, triangles, stars and hearts.**

January 20th - February 5th: Sing a Song of Opposites
**Big and little, tall and short, up and down, inside and outside...the list goes on!!**
February 10th - February 12th: Friendship and Valentines
**We'll focus on friendship for Valentines day and end with our own Valentines Day Celebration!**
February 17th - February 26th: It's Chow Time! (Food)
**We'll be learning about the different food groups. Healthy and unhealthy food and more!**
March 3rd - March 12th: Workers, Tools and Uniforms
VISIT THE FIRE STATION AND POLICE STATION FOR OUR FIELD TRIP
**We'll be learning about the possibilities of careers that we can all be when we grown up**

March 17th - March 26th: Spring Time

POSSIBLY BE VISITING THE ZOO TO SEE ALL THE NEW BABY ANIMALS

**We'll learn about the different signs of spring, baby animals and possibly have some little eggs to watch hatch into baby chicks!**
